Hi, my name is Robert Bryce. Peter was kind enough to offer me this spot to saw a log about Tonga. I match-make buyers with sellers of Tongan property and businesses, and I still live. This is a good sign. I chose Tonga because this is where I was when I made the decision to stop sailing around the South Pacific. This kind of thinking could work for you too. If you are tired of going nowhere in life, you might as well be doing it in paradise. Anyway, living in Tonga turned out to be one of my most incredible experiences. So much so, I am writing a book about it, but caught between publishing it and having to leave for doing so. If you enjoy a good comedy and always wanted to be part of an act, Tonga is that opportunity. You might land the part as the owner of the Bounty Bar, the oldest bar in Vava’u, young as it is. Or, try your hand at the role of a day-sail yacht charter business, visiting all of the islands and white sandy beaches with nice folks like yourself. Talk about fun and profit. How does that compare with what you are doing now? If you want to make a change in your life, get in touch! I will be glad you did; you too.
Robert.

P.S.
My email address is tongaproperty@yahoo.com.
My website is at SouthPacificRealEstate.to

Comments by Webmaster: I have travelled Tonga extensively. It's a lovely place to visit and an even better place to live in. You think you can't afford it? Being rich is easier than you think. You just have to get away from Sydney or London or New York. If you were to live in Tonga, even an income of $5,000 a year would make you feel rich. Millions of Westerners are actually poorer, in terms of their net wealth, than the people of Tonga. The poor in Tonga have nothing. But many of the West's poor have less than nothing. They are in debt, often by thousands of dollars. Tonga's poor people, in contrast, have no credit cards. They have no access to credit. They are not rich enough to be that poor! Read some of Rob's truly amusing anecdotes about life in Tonga.

Hello
I am a Bougainvillean living in North Queensland. I like your site very much and every time I get homesick I visit it.
My father is an American who still lives on Bougainville and he says there is no other place he would rather be but there. I know a lot of young women like me (mixed-race) but who are unable to see their fathers. I have been asked to find out what happened to their fathers and see if they wanted to keep in touch with them. I have since reunited two families. I have a hard time finding a John Brian Cavanagh or Brian John Cavagh who had a gorgeous daughter- Margaret - whose mother remarried a Dr. Sawa from Buka.
Would you know this person ? Could you please let me know if and how I can get in touch with him?
Thanks for your time and thanks again for your site. Bougainville forever!

Peter, as a publisher (Otford Press), maybe we could think about a book about Bougainville? I am not talking about a memory of the wasted days at the Loloho bar, but something that takes up the theme of giving back something to Bougainville. My son, Robin, who was born in Arawa, is now our editor. So it could be something a few people might be interested in thinking about? Lansell

Hi,

PANGUNA INTERNATIONAL PRIMARY SCHOOL

I just happened to stumble across your webpage and couldn't resist asking if there are any ex PIPS out there.

My parents used to work for BCL, I was born in Arawa General Hospital. Grew up in Bouganville but my parents are originally from New Ireland Province.

I'm now currently studying at Curtin University of Technology, Perth, WA.

Would appreciate if you know of any who would have been attending the school at camp 10 site from 1987 to 1989. Would love to hear from you.

Thank you so much for the Photos, they sure do bring back fond memories of that beautiful place. In my eyes, Bouganville is still the most beautiful place in Papua New Guinea.

The principle was Mr Comerford (Peter Comerford). They wrote to me when I was doing my secondary schooling in Townsville Grammar School back in 1996. I've lost their address.

Appreciate your help if you could find anyone out there. Just to catch up.

Cheers! Alice Toariting TOARITIA@ses.curtin.ses.au

Dear Sailors,

We are two keen sailors ( couple ) who have left our boat at home in Switzerland. We have been travelling for a few months in Asia and now Malaysia / Indonesia etc.

We are due to arrive in Darwin ( without boat ) in July. We would like to tour the South Pacific Islands. We are completely flexible about exactly which ones.

Therefore, if you know of any boats that require experienced crew or would be happy to have us ( allrounder / KAM & nurse ) on board could you please contact us. Our e-mail address is
patinparadise@yahoo.de
Thank you very much for any help or advice.
Regards
