The latest news to keep you informed

to you all!

Touch-typing I haven't written much for a few months - not because nothing has happened but because too much has happened! Most recently, an excavator and a backhoe ripped up all the grass along our jetty.

Easier than by hand! The machines reshaped the shoreline and then covered it with some 100 tonnes of rock, with the larger granite boulders at the bottom, to form a nice pattern. We then dressed the area with top soil and placed along the edges some plants which in time will cascade down the rocks and into the water. We also placed the old stone bench to face downriver.

The new-look Riverbend The result of all this hard - and expensive - work looks quite pleasing while at the same time - we hope! - it should stop further erosion.

The new tank and the carport enclosure Being in the working mood, I also installed a second watertank to give our guest cottage its own water supply. I then set about enclosing the carport with lattice work to shade my ageing CAMRY from the hot sun.

Best wishes and from us all!
