Living and retiring on a tropical island We are seeking a partnership with people After some years in Australia where we live on the beautiful South Coast of New South Wales, we have decided to return to warmer climes and a more relaxed lifestyle - at least for part of the year. We have done some research on available properties on Bali and Lombok and would like to buy a reasonably priced property there which we would like to share with another couple who are interested in a similar arrangement. Under the envisaged ownership arrangement, both couples would purchase and own an equal share of the property and occupy it on a rotating basis (for six months of each year). Depending on the size and lay-out of the yet-to-be-purchased residence and provided there is sufficient compatibility between the couples, it should also be possible for the occupancies to overlap and indeed coincide. Of course, compatibility and a certain degree of "meeting of the minds" is absolutely essential and to this end one or more extended meetings should be arranged and we are happy to receive any interested party as our guests on our "Riverbend" property in Australia. We believe a shared occupancy would suit many expatriate owners who still wish to maintain a home (and possibly a business) in their respective home countries while at the same time enjoying a retired lifestyle on a tropical island. Padma is an Indonesian national which would facilitate the ownership arrangement enormously. As an additional safeguard, we could offer the sharing couple a Bank Guarantee over the full amount of their investment making the whole deal "all gain and no pain".
